Currence iDEAL B.V. has developed an iDEAL QR app. With this app, a mobile iDEAL payment can be initiated using a screen, printed material or letter. The secure iDEAL QR app for smartphones or tablets scans the iDEAL QR code, which can be recognised by the iDEAL logo in the middle. The details of the iDEAL payment are then displayed.
Easy, quick and secure mobile payments via iDEAL
After an iDEAL QR code has been scanned, all information about the transaction appears in the iDEAL app. The consumer subsequently checks and confirms this information. Via the iDEAL app, a ready-made iDEAL payment is prepared in the mobile banking app on the smartphone of the user. As a result, several steps in the usual iDEAL payment process are skipped. To finish the transaction, the user approves the iDEAL payment in the mobile banking app in the usual way – by means of his mobile PIN code.
Banks add scan functionality iDEAL QR to mobile banking app
In July 2017, Knab made it possible to scan the iDEAL QR code in its mobile app. Customers of Knab and now Rabobank also, no longer need the iDEAL QR app for scanning. Other banks will also ensure that in 2018 the iDEAL QR scan functionality is included in their own bank app.
Do you want to offer iDEAL QR as a payment option?
If you would like to start using iDEAL QR, you will need an contract with one of the participating acquirers (ABN AMRO, BNP Paribas, ING, PAY.nl or Rabobank) or CPSPs (Buckaroo, CM Payments, CURO Payments, Ginger Payments, Mollie, Multisafepay, Online Betaalplatform or Sisow).
We advise you to contact one of the participating acquirers or CPSPs should you require more information about the possibilities to offer iDEAL to your clients.
Your CPSP is not included? Please contact Currence via email@example.com, there are still parties joining.
Payment by means of a letter, printed material or screen
The iDEAL QR code can be offered to consumers in letters, on printed materials and on screens. Consumers can use this code to make mobile payments with iDEAL anywhere and any time, including on the street and at the front door. Examples include a QR code on a restaurant bill, collection box, store window, papers or online invoice. In addition, a number of steps in the regular iDEAL payment process can be skipped by scanning an online purchase on the screen of a laptop or computer. The possibilities are endless.
